Here is a little cabin get-away we did last year...

Ok, it has been a while since I added anything to our blog. Don't think we haven't been busy with new projects! As you can see by these recent pictures, we always try to expand what we think is the capability of post-frame/post-beam style of construction. It really suites custom buildings because of the large spans that are possible using this style construction. Please feel free to send a comment, if you see anything that interests you from the following photos...

Two from the crew at the National Frame Builder Association trade show last month. They seemed enthusiastic and undaunted by all the information available... a walk through the conservatory helped us to process what we had learned.

We recently finished this interesting building for a couple interesting people... multiple use barn with plenty of light inside during the day. Front porch allows a truck to drive through from the side. Curved support bracket negates additional post, that may be clipped by a hasty driver, used to hold the short roof over the personnel doors.

New shop construction

We recently extended a shop by attaching to an existing building. By adding a loft with minimal posts to get in the way, much usable space was created. The customer is sure to appreciate their choice of taller roof height for its cooling effect in the summer and amount of light streaming through the five foot high windows. We also dismantled and re-stacked an 100 year old smokehouse next to the new shop. I don't think they are planning to smoke anything in it, just use it as a potting shed. Chinking will finish the cabin after the logs settle into place for a little while.

Another shop completed...inside and out.

We recently finished a fine shop building, 60'l x 60'w. Building has 36' center trusses with 12' rafter-style sheds on each side. Ceiling is mostly white metal throughout. Walls of the center main area are white metal as well for bright, clean-looking, easily-maintained enclosed space. All is insulated as the shop will be used year-round.

Steel truss and oak-sided barn - door in front is a double-bypass door, almost 15' wide. We used all treated lumber for the framing. Customer plans to stain building next year, after lumber dries... should look very nice in the trees.
